TLDR: Lettering challenges over the years

For the last several years, I have been doing little lettering challenges. Every spring I join hundreds of designers and illustrators in creating a letter per day for 36 days. Then for my birth month, I challenge myself in multiple ways. For my 28th year, I selected 28 words that I felt described me in some way shape or form. Doing these little social media exhibits are a great way for me to express one of my deepest passions: typography.

The second year I did the Instagram challenge 36 Days of Type, I used the same color palette and tools to create each of the letter and number forms.

For my birthday month, I always like to challenge myself to something creative, something athletic, and something human. “Words That Define Me” tackled two of those three.
